Amanda graduated from Kings College London with a first class honours degree in
Physiotherapy. During her time at university she was elected President of the Physiotherapy Society and received the award for Best Overall Clinical Placement Performance. In addition to physiotherapy, she also has qualifications and experience in Sports Massage, Kinesiotaping and is a qualified Pilates instructor. After graduation she worked as a rotational physiotherapist at Southend University Hospital NHS Trust and within Private Sports Physiotherapy Clinics.
Prior to becoming a physio, Amanda was a professional dancer for over 10 years. She is
currently combining her physiotherapy skills with her knowledge of dance and performance and runs a Dance Specialist Physiotherapy practice at Performers College Essex. Through this, she has developed a keen passion for treating injuries of the lower limb particularly the foot and ankle. She is member of the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science and is currently involved in various research projects on reducing the risks of dance injury. She additionally lectures in Injury Prevention and has given workshops to dancers from across the country. Amanda is passionate about the bio-psychosocial, wholistic approach to health, injury prevention and management. In her spare time she enjoys running dancing, weight lifting and spending time with her family.
